Cloud Based Management VFD Drives
Cloud Based Management is a great Idea ... long on promise, yet shorter on delivery because/as it requires much investigation and critical design decision making. Just remember Remote Control requires much oversight because typical control has feet on the ground, close to the system being given control commands, especially for VFD Drives or other devices that cause motion. Yes, a number of us can accomplish this type of control, but this design choice must be entered into advisedly, and carefully. This technology is gaining in popularity, yet the reason it is not all that widespread is the inherent safety and other controls issues that must be carefully considered. For Programming, Diagnostics and other reporting it is a great tool that is not taken advantage of enough, and should be utilized much more widely, especially in light of our need to control our use of Natural Resources, i.e. Energy and Water to mention just two.
